Jozi Hangouts

Copper Bar, Bryanston

Copper Bar Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

This is such a trendy venue and what’s not to love about a rooftop bar with a view of Jozi?

Edit2Edit1

It’s a rather unique concept in the fact that it’s only really open to the public on Thursday evenings. You also need to be on a guest list to get in (you can email them before the time with a group of names or else visit their website and add your name at http://www.copperbar.co.za) which is why until now I’ve never made the effort to go.  Any other day of the week people are able to rent out the venue for events and private functions.

As South Africans we are not prepped for the cold and could really be referred to as a bunch of sissy’s. Winter comes around and we tend to spend most of our time in our ‘burrows’ in order to avoid any chilly weather. So having a party in winter, outside and at NIGHT, really seemed like a bit of a push. haha.

Edit4Edit6

As the evening kicked off we found a couch in the corner and were given blankets to watch the last of the sunset. (I can’t wait to watch the sun go down in summer)

The food is organised by Simply Asia and there is a limited menu with options of noodles (R85-R100) or sushi available. It worked really well and we were served our meals quite quickly.

The place filled up nicely and there was a dj playing chilled music for the evening.

It is a really cool spot to grab a drink and meet a group of friends. Oh and did I mention that I can’t wait to go back in summer?!

p.s the toilets are really oddly arranged, so don’t get a fright. Two of the girls toilets are divided by a mid-height wall so you can engage in conversation with the person next to you! Weird, but ok!
